Individual Paddler Survey Results…

Looking forward to a Happy New Year on the water.

ARE Outrigger World wishes you a happy and healthy New Year, 2021, with the hope that more and more paddlers will be launching their outriggers on waters throughout the United States.

We recently conducted a survey to assess the needs of our outrigger community. We thank those of you who participated, representing many fine outrigger canoe clubs* in California, Washington, Oregon, Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Vancouver.

We discovered some great insights into your paddling needs and plans and felt they were worth sharing! Of the paddlers who responded to our survey, 71% currently own their own outriggers, and 37% plan to buy a new one in 2021. Of those who plan to buy a canoe, 62% are interested in a V1 rudderless canoe. Not surprisingly, 55% of survey respondents have paddled a V1 and enjoyed it, while 20% have not yet tried a V1 but would like to. (You’ll be pleased to know that a V1 canoe costs no more than an OC1.)

When it comes to racing 6-man canoes, nearly 60% of respondents currently compete on a team and just under 10% would like to. We found it most encouraging that 80% of respondents are aware that paddling a V1 rudderless canoe can enhance paddling skills and best prepare single paddlers for a spot on a 6-man racing canoe.

Well, ARE Outrigger World is pleased to let you know that new ARE Tahiti V1s, V6 Matahinas, and OC1s will soon be on their way to the “mainland,” waiting to make a splash in U.S. waters! We’d like you to get in on the first wave of orders to take advantage of our specials!
